Intentional and Extentional Contexts of Truth-Values
Keywords:
semantics, truth, false, sense, truth-values.Abstract
The article covers the developments of many-valued logics and logical semantics. An emphasis is placed on functional properties of many-valued logics. Another important topic covered in the article is the more complicated philosophical problem of interpretation of the truth-values in many-valued logics and logical semantics. Investigating this problem leads to the idea of structuralization of truth-values. The article deals with the main principles of logical semantics. The considerable attention is given to the problem of differentiating sense and meaning, as well as their referentials in modern logic. It analyzes the main principles of the logical systems developed by Frege, Bochvar, and Church. International and extentional contexts of truth of utterances meaning are researched via the critique of the bivalence, identity and executionability principles.
